Ken Allen, DMDHello, my name is Ken Allen and I am a general dentist here at Dental Salon. I focus on the needs of my patients with the ideal in mind that good oral health care is a reflection of good overall health. I graduated from St. Xavier University with a Bachelor of Science followed by my Doctorate of Dental Medicine from Southern Illinois University. Following dental school, I spent four years as a Captain in the United States Army where I served my country as a dentist at home as well as abroad. I spent my first year in the service completing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency in Columbia, South Carolina. This additional dental training provided me excellent exposure to complex treatments and procedures. I spent the final three years of my service stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska. There I not only grew as a dentist practicing on my own in a remote part of the country, but also as a person where the extremes of Mother Nature and especially the weather can test your mind and body. During my three years in Alaska, I left for six months while serving in Operation Enduring Freedom based in Kandahar, Afghanistan. As the lone US dentist at the NATO headquarters for the war in Afghanistan, I was able to meet people from all corners of the world and provide care for them in an area where there was no one else to help at that time. I look forward to sharing my knowledge and experience with you here at Dental Salon. |
